Waiting for the new arrival!

With just a few more days to go before Maria's little sister arrives, my badminton friends convinced me to paint my bump. Even if I was slightly reluctant at the beginning, I found this as a great experience, a very nice feeling and truly artistic. Thanks Amy for a wonderful bump painting. I love it! I chose the Olympic rings, dolphins and badminton shuttlecocks, as they represent my passion and hobbies.

And the pictures are here:

 A ball on a ball
 Don't laugh!...
Will thought the shuttlecocks were the best. Maria loved the rings and I thought everything was great!
A closer view. Baby girl was very happy and moved quite a bit during painting.

Katie and Ron's Wedding

At the beginning of September, the whole Mitchell family, packed the bags and headed to Cornwall, St Mawes for a very special event, Katie and Ron's Wedding. Even heavily pregnant, the trip to Cornwall was ok and we enjoyed a very nice family week and a great wedding.

Here are some pictures from our week in Cornwall:
Enjoying one of the only sunny days in St Mawes
Maria on the beach

At the World of Model Railways in Mevagissey

 In Mevagissey Harbour
With Grannie Mary for a walk on the beach
Me and my nephew, Corben. Love this picture!

Here are some pictures from the wedding day. Maria proved to be a party girl, staying up until 1am, dancing almost all the time and being very happy.
The wedding ceremony took place in a very nice setting of the Lamorran Gardens in St Mawes. Katie had a very beautiful dress on her special day and she looked stunning.
A wonderful setting, with the coast and see behind them
Ed, Valerie and little Corben. We were very happy to finally meet Maria's cousin, Corben. He is such a lovely boy.

 Happy couple!

Badminton World Championships August 2011 - London - Wembley Arena

As a treat for our 4 years wedding anniversary, we bought tickets for the Badminton Worlds, in London. As Badminton England members, we also took advantage of a free offer in the first day of the Worlds, which means we attended on the first and last day of the Championships. On the first day, we also took Maria and our badminton friend, Karyn. Here are some pictures from the event.

First day at the Wembley Arena
Not a very popular event. If it was a football match, the streets would have been flooded with people.
Thumbs up for badminton and the excellent day spent in the arena
 Time to go home

In the final day, the most interesting and spectacular match was the Men's Single Final, between Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia (in this picture) and Lin Dan from China. Lin Dan won, but it was a very intensive and close game. The Chinese took all 5 titles on the day, but it was good to see a British couple in the final of Mixed Doubles.
