Maria's 5th Birthday

Maria was 5 in November. Such a sweet and kind girl, who loves everyone and everything and wants to make people happy around her. She started school in September and she enjoys it so much, as well as her other activities (swimming, dancing, gymnastics and arts & crafts). Here are some pictures from her birthday and her birthday party.

Elsa's 2nd Birthday

Elsa was 2 in October. She is such a cute little girls, who reminds me A LOT of my sister. It's almost like I live my childhood again, by growing Maria and Elsa. Everything that Maria does, Elsa does it, too. She is ambitious, determined, cute and extremely stubborn. There have been some wonderful years behind us and more wonderful moments still to come. The girls are growing and they are very happy, cheerful and sweet with each other.

She was absolutely knackered by the time the caterpillar cake arrived in the evening, but she still wanted to blow the candles over and over again, exactly like her sister did 3 year ago. Deja vu!
Elsa's birthday party at home was very nice and luckily on another nice and warm day, so that everyone can enjoy a party in the garden. The day she was born, two years ago was the hottest ever day in October in the UK.

Maria's first day of school

Today we signed another big chapter in our lives. Our Maria started school. A new journey, a new adventure and a wonderful moment that I shared with her, Will and Elsa. She woke up early to make sure she wouldn't miss the opening of the doors. She made her school bag, packed her lunch, put on her uniform and she was ready to go. She is embarking today in a journey of many years and we wish her the best of luck. We will support her and guide her in any ways we can. Here are some pictures of her from today.

Yesterday, we closed another chapter, her loved nursery and pre-school, Mulberry Corner. Here are two pictures from their picnic.

France 2013

In July, we went to visit our relatives in Grenoble, France and their new baby boy addition. It was a very nice trip combined with the 100th Tour de France. Elsa and Maria loved the bikes and they were very patient waiting for them. Maria also liked the publicity caravan that comes before the cyclists. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Elsa's favourite saying of the day: "more bikes coming, I, I like it...", clapping hands

Busy Spring and Summer 2013

I am really sorry it's been such a long time since I posted pictures and stories. The summer has been very busy and we took advantage of the last year when we can travel outside of school holiday. And that is because Maria starts school next week. Yes, it's true! Very hard to believe, but true. She will embark on a new journey, with a new teacher and making new friends. But, let's get back to our time before school starts.

What have we been up to after coming back from Romania?

In May we went to the Lake District with our godson, Francis and his parents Matt and Sally. We had a lovely time there, doing some caches, playing games, swimming and for the first time, Maria went rowing a boat with her mummy. Here are some pictures from our trip to the Lake District.

It's only us, the lake and the mountains

In June, we went to Pembrokshire with Grannie and Granddad and we stayed on a beach cottage in Abereiddi. The girls loved the views, geocaching and especially the sunset.

Another funky geocache. With special dedication to Edi!

Skiing in Poiana Brasov

While in Brasov, Maria went skiing for the first time and she loved it. Brasov in March was rather cold and we had two snowy days. It was good for us to visit Poiana Brasov and go up on top of Postavaru though.
