The Olympic Games London 2012

I have been waiting for this moment for my whole life. Being envolved in Olympics has been my dream since I was only 3 years old and was watching Nadia Comaneci competing in gymnastics. I grew up hoping that some day I will be part of this great sporting event. While I was in the US, my dream has partially come true, as I used to work for USOC and lived for a few months at the Olympic Training Centre in Colorado Springs. I still have wonderful memories about those years that I will treasure forever. But this time, it was my chance to experience live the Olympics and be there, at least as a spectator. Wonderful news when we managed to get some tickets for 4 events. First day, we took the girls at Eton Dorney for the Canoeing Sprint Event. It was such a great day to be able to go together as a family and watch the Olympics. I know my family at home were also very proud and happy for me and I phoned them to share those special moments.

The second day there we went with our friends, Mat and Sally, who were very kind to invite us to the Voleyball Men's Quarterfinals. We had a great time. Thanks again to Mat and Sally.

The third day at the Olympics gave us the opportunity to be in the Olympic Park and the Olympic Stadium. That was very special. In the evening we saw the Handball women semifinals. Handball is a great sport and it was even more special for me as my dad played this sport when he was young.

Here are some pictures from our days at the Olympics.

July 2012

This year, in July, I have become a British Citizen. I am very proud to be Romanian and British. Both girls and Will attended the ceremony. July was a more relaxed month, with not too much travelling, but we were still very busy with Maria's dance, gymnastics and swimming classes. We also went to see the Olympic Torch arriving in Southampton.

Tennis Wimbledon 2012

We got very lucky this year to see lots of sports events. After we had tickets for European Figure Skating Championships in January, we got tickets for Wimbledon and Olympics and Paralympics to follow in the next two months.

Here are some pictures from our wonderful day at Wimbledon. Thanks to Mum Mary and Dad Peter for taking care of the girls, who behaved pretty well.
