Yorkshire Dales Trip

The day after my parents and Mio went back to Romania, we left to visit the Yorkshire Dales, with our friends Matt and Sally who flew from Germany. It was a great, relaxing and peaceful trip, in the middle of hills, surrounded by sheep and rabbits.

Siew Gin's Visit

Just before my parents left home and we were heading to Yorkshire, Siew Gin, her boys and parents in law came to visit us. It was lovely to see them again and to meet Tyler and Cody. They are lovely. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Maria had a great time playing with Tyler
while my mum enjoyed a lot to hold little Cody, who was very happy and sweet
and while Will and I were preparing the barbecue
my mum and dad wanted to have a picture taken with Siew Gin
and a group picture

Busy June!

June was the busiest month for us this year. Just as we came back from Corfu, we started having visitors. Corina and her boys came over to visit for a weekend.

The following weekend, my aunt and dad arrived and it was also Will's birthday surprise dinner. Here are some pictures from Will's family celebration party at home.
A nice summer day that allowed us to stay outside in our new decorated garden.

Trying new games in the garden, darts on target

Corfu, Greece

First time in Corfu and the best sunset ever. Our trip to Corfu was great. Thank you, Lauren and Sandy for letting us enjoy staying for 9 days in the beautiful "Doll's House". It was great to have my mum and Lauren with us. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Will's sunset panoramic

And another panoramic, in beautiful Paleokastritsa

Next three pictures have a special story. We all know how passionate Will is for geocaches and we did expect to do some on the island. This was our first day in Corfu, pretty horrible weather, cold and a bit of rain, but "perfect" for geocaching. So, we decided to go for one, which was known as the most beautiful landscape in the north part of Corfu. The roads are not very good in Corfu, but you can drive with a bit of care. But not the one we adventured on, in order to reach this geocache. It was very muddy, downhill and our rented "Dacia Logan" (how spooky to get a Romanian rental car...) started sliding all over the place. A group of Romanians (again, spooky...) stopped us to drive down and tried to push us up the hill, but with no luck. Eventually a Greek truck came by and with some laugh, they decided to "rescue" our Dacia from the ditch. After we parked the car, Will adventured himself and went down to the point, where he took these gorgeous pictures. I think it was worth it!

After our adventure, we headed towards Kasiopi, via Sidari and Roda

Kasiopi harbour seen from a fortress, another geocaching place...

Time to have gyros in Kasiopi

"Am I cool, mummy?"

Time for a spin with daddy

On a hike to the cavern in one of the oldest places in Corfu

I think this should be the last geocache of the day and let's hope for some sun, so that ladies  can enjoy spending some time on the beach

And there it it. After two cloudy and rainy days, the sun finally is shinning and we are off to the beach and my mum is first in the water

Maria playing in the sand and making sandcastles with daddy

Nice lunch on the patio

Looking at fish in a submarine

"Moon...", Maria's first and favourite word

Big rocks seen from a boat trip

The most beautiful sunset I have ever seen, hard to capture in a picture, but great memories

Another day on the beach

and in the sea

buried in sand

"I think I had enough, daddy! Please, take me out of here!"

Snack time
Another beautiful sunset. Maria was still awake, waiting for the moon
